Welcome Back to The Corporate Pivot!

A good job, solid savings habits, smart investing — that’ll get you a stable life.

But if you want freedom — the ability to spend your time doing what you love instead of working for the paycheck — you need something with a higher ceiling.

The truth is, we all owe it to ourselves to chase something difficult. To take a shot. To build the kind of life where early retirement isn’t a fantasy, it’s a plan.

That’s what The Corporate Pivot is about.

Helping you take control, level up, and create real options for yourself.

Let’s get to work.

Here’s what we have for you today:

Pivot Perspectives:

Sam talks about reviewing a new service business and shares a simple way to check if a business is relying too much on just one customer.

Sam’s Perspective (1st Time Buyer)

🆕 Status Update: I just signed an NDA for a pressure washing and paver business that looks pretty solid on paper. It’s doing close to $2 million in revenue with over $400,000 in reported profit. There’s a decent amount of equipment included too, which is a plus.

Right now I’m digging in to see how much of that profit is actually real and how involved the owner is. These service businesses can be great if they have a good team in place and don’t rely on the owner doing everything.

Simple Tip:

Here’s one thing I always look for now:
Is the business too dependent on just one customer?

If one client makes up a big chunk of the money coming in—say 30 or 40 percent of total sales—that’s a red flag. If that customer leaves, the whole business takes a hit.

A good business should have a mix of customers, so no single one has too much control over the outcome. If you're looking at a deal, always ask:

“How much of the revenue comes from your top customer?”

It’s an easy question that tells you a lot.

Tyler’s Perspective (Experienced Buyer)

🆕 Status Update: If you run a home service business, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll need a vehicle. Whether it’s a company-owned truck or just your personal vehicle used for business, it becomes a major part of your operations.

Vehicles can be great assets, especially when it comes to marketing and tax deductions. But with ownership comes responsibility. That includes repairs, maintenance, insurance, and registration. We were honestly shocked at how expensive insurance was for our service vehicle, and we just had a pretty major repair done.

One thing I didn’t think about early on—but definitely should have—is setting aside cash reserves specifically for vehicle expenses. Things like a flat tire, engine trouble, or even a spike in fuel costs can hit your cash flow harder than expected.

Having a separate reserve makes sure your business doesn’t miss a beat. In a home service business, a working vehicle is more than just transportation. It’s your mobile office, your rolling billboard, and your lifeline to customers. Keep it maintained and backed by a small reserve, and you’ll thank yourself later.

💡 Cool Business Idea: Private AI for Professionals Who Can’t Use ChatGPT

Most people don’t realize that tools like ChatGPT log your conversations.
That’s fine if you’re writing tweets or meal plans. But if you're drafting legal briefs, patient notes, or internal reports… that’s a problem.

Enter LocalLLM — a small-business solution that sets up private, in-house AI models for law firms, healthcare practices, accountants, and other high-trust industries.
No data ever leaves their network. No OpenAI exposure. Just instant answers and document summaries running locally.

You don’t need to build a model from scratch. You deploy proven open-source LLMs on dedicated hardware for a few grand.
And you charge for setup, support, and software access.

🧠 Why It Works

  • Most professionals are curious about AI, but can’t risk client data leaving their building

  • Local models like Mistral, LLaMA, and Phi-3 now run fast on a $1,000 PC

  • You provide a done-for-you solution with a clean interface

  • You become their tech partner, not just a one-time sale

🛠 What You Offer

  • Custom onboarding so the tool is trained on their documents

  • Access via secure browser or app

  • Optional RAG (retrieval augmented generation) for searchable firm docs

⚡ Final Take

AI isn’t going away. But smart industries know they can’t risk leaking data.
That’s your opportunity.

You’re not selling AI hype. You’re giving professionals a secure, private productivity tool they can trust.

You don’t need to be a full-stack developer — just someone who understands good tools, security basics, and how to speak to clients.

It’s quiet, profitable, and it’s only just starting.
